December 2009 Project

When we first arrived at Diane's she gave each of us an embellished match box with 2 mini rubber stamps inside. We had our swap cards plus a card for Diane. Some of us even gave her gifts to show our appreciation of her opening up her Scrap Shack to us.

Diane taught us how to make 4 mini-cards out of 1 sheet of 12x12 inch cardstock and how to make a box to hold the cards out of 1 sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 inch cardstock.

Here are our Christmas card swaps.

Next month, we return to meeting on the 3rd Saturday which will be Jan. 16, 2010. Save the date. We will learn some new punch art projects and a diaper fold card. The card swap was not discussed so the theme is open to anything you want to make. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Everyone.

Welcome to the Scrapshack Girls Blog

In early 2009 a group of women agreed to meet monthly to share their love of paper crafting. We voted on our name to be Scrapshack Girls where we Scrap Craft Relax And Play. We meet in a country home in Abita Springs, Louisiana that has an unattached craft house that is set up with a kitchenette, satellite TV, air-conditioning and heating, bathroom and plenty of elbow room to craft. So far we have met twice. At the February meeting we stamped with Staz On ink on glass slides and painted them on the reverse. They were trimmed in adhesive metal tape to give the illusion of stained glass. We also painted and stamped the matching mailers. We liked the slide with the frosted background the most. At the March meeting the Scrapshack Girls made a friendship box that opens with mini drawers attached. Everything was made out of paper, chipboard and red line tape. It stays closed with a matching lid and base that doubles as a stand-alone box.
Keep checking back for more updates.
